During a Microsoft showcase event in New York City, DualShockers was allowed to record about nine minutes of gameplay of StudioMDHR's indie darling Cuphead running on Xbox One X.

The we get to see the first overworld, and a nasty, nasty boss battle titled Botanic Panic. While the gameplay is absolutely challenging, the hand-drawn and hand-animated art is a joy for the eyes.

Incidentally, the video also showcases the super-brief but cute tutorial that welcomes players at the beginning of the game.

Luckily for you, there is no commentary involved this time around, so you can fully enjoy Cuphead's lovely soundtrack.

You can check it out below and if you want to see more, you can also enjoy another batch of footage, a second video,  a third one, some charming screenshots and artwork, and some info about the game here, and here.

Cuphead will launch for Xbox One and PC on September 29th, 2017. Considering how challenging it is, tears will be shed.
