D4 Dev Got In Trouble on Planes to Take Reference Pictures; Considering Working on Oculus Rift

D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die Writer and Director Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro mentioned an interesting and funny anectode this morning during a Q&A session from the indie trade event Bitsummit in Kyoto.

He explained that in order to make the scene on the airliner in D4 really fun, when he went to the US several times for work, he used to walk through the planes taking pictures, getting in trouble a lot of times, as the staff thought he was dangerous.

Swery also mentioned that he spent almost the whole day yesterday at the Oculus booth, and he has his own Oculus Rift unit, so he’s considering working on the new VR headset.

Lesson learned: taking pictures on planes can get you in trouble. I can relate, since I was on the receiving end of quite a few evil gazes myself while shooting picture for my PS4 travel article.
