Nearly three years after taking over for Craig Zinkievich, Daniel Stahl has announced that he will be stepping down as Star Trek Online‘s Executive Producer. His desire to, “pursue an exciting new project at Cryptic Studios,” has been cited as the reason behind his departure.

Stephen D’Angelo has worked at Cryptic Studios on the STO team for five years in various roles including Software Engineer and Team Leader. He will take over the role of Executive Producer (a role that he served in for six months in 2011 during an unrelated absence by Mr. Stahl) in the wake of Mr. Stahl’s departure.

Mr. D’Angelo is a self-professed fan of Star Trek: The Original Series, The Next Generation, and Deep Space Nine.
