Horror games look to be coming back in a big way on the next-gen, with games like The Evil Within looking to lead the charge for a resurgence of the genre after a less-pronounced appearance this gen.

The Forest, an indie horror title currently under development by SKS Games for PC and Oculus Rift, seeks to do with the same with a creepy atmosphere, chilling vibes, and with Oculus Rift, a unique take on perspective and “first-person” horror. The studio has released a new trailer for their upcoming horror title, featuring a minute and a half of tense gameplay, a creepy woodland setting, and plenty of fear and the unknown.

The Forest currently has no announced release date from SKS Games, but you can check out the second gameplay trailer below for a taste of what to expect – and maybe mentally prepare yourself for the scares ahead of time.
