Today, Ireland-based developer Spooky Doorway released a new, official launch trailer for its point-and-click adventure game, The Darkside Detective, which is poised to hit PC, Mac, and Linux on July 27th.

In The Darkside Detective you play as Detective Francis McQueen, who alongside Officer Dooley, is investigating six bizarre cases that range from the occult to the supernatural. As Twin Lakes City sole member of the underfunded Darkside Division -- cracking these cases is all up to you. Each case is said to be its own unique case, offering up "humorous bite-size investigations" each time.

The game notably oozes a 90's atomspehere and has been praised in the past for its script and fourth-wall breaking humor. It further features an OST by the one and only Ben Prunty of FTL and Gravity Ghost fame.

It's currently unclear how much The Darkside Detective will cost when it launches, though I would reckon it's likely to be priced no more than $19.99 USD. If you can't wait that long or anticipate having no cash flow anytime soon -- then you might want to check out the game's free demo, which at the very least, will offer you up an opportunity to see if the game is for you or not before committing to purchasing it.
