[UPDATE – Publisher Nordic Games has confirmed in a new press release that Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will release for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC on October 25th, 2016 for $19.99. In addition to the release date and price confirmation, Nordic Games also revealed some new information on the remastered editions, including that the PC version will feature 4K resolution support and “additional video options” for PC.
Development of the project is being done by KAIKO, who have previously worked on other projects with Nordic Games including last year’s Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition and more.]
Originally released in 2010, Darksiders gained a cult following for its gameplay influenced by titles such as Devil May Cry, God of War, and The Legend of Zelda, with the original title to be getting a newly-remastered (or as the box calls it, “Warmastered”) edition in the near future.
In an update on the website of publisher Nordic Games, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition has been revealed as a remastered version of the 2010 original, which will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC — no release date has been specified at this time.
Nordic Games’ listing revealed that the Warmastered Edition will feature “native 1080p rendering resolution” across all versions and 60fps gameplay on the PS4/Xbox One/PC (Wii U will run in 30fps).
Other graphical enhancements will be made for the Warmastered Edition including texture resolutions that are double what they were in the original, better rendering improvements, shadow rendering quality, and post-processing effects.
Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC – no release date has been announced at this time.
