Acid Wizard Studio is an independent studio based in Poland with a unique survival horror title on the way. Today, the developer provided a live-action trailer, characterizing Darkwood’s creepy tone and announcing its upcoming release date.

Darkwood will be coming out of its Early Access phase and onto PC, Mac, and Linux on August 17.

Darkwood is a top-down free-roam survival horror game where players will take advantage of the daylight to explore and scavenge for materials to craft weapons and discover the world’s secrets. However, when night descends, so do the world’s terrors. It will be important to find shelter, craft barricades, and set traps in order to survive the horrors that wish you harm. Through the game’s randomly generated environments, you will acquire the necessary tools to improve your character’s abilities and hopefully survive another night.

Darkwood also features other inhabitants many of whose fates you will decide as the plot progresses. But it’s important to always remember that you should never trust anyone in Darkwood. Madness can touch anyone in this game, even you!

For more information on Darkwood, you can visit the game’s official website or its Steam page. You can watch the live-action trailer for Darkwood below.
