DayZ will definitely be releasing on the Xbox One, creator Dean Hall says.
Speaking at EGX, he stated that the exact range of platforms are still to be announced.
DayZ is definitely going to be a multi-platform title – that’s the firm vision from Bohemia’s standpoint.
DayZ had previously been announced as coming to PlayStation 4.
Hall also noted that Bohemia Interactive were considering an Early Access release on Sony’s consoles, depending on how the company reacted.
That would depend on what options Sony provides. I don’t think they’ve said anything about… Everyone’s said they’re thinking about it.
He noted that Early Access had its fair share of image problems, and this is one aspect that Bohemia is considering when thinking about how to release DayZ on consoles.
There’s a lot of problems with Early Access on PC that definitely are at the forefront of people’s minds. So when DayZ will release would depend very much on what Sony offers in terms of if it was going to do an Early Access program, what it looks like. Then also the state of DayZ – does it make sense to do it through that?
Hall also said that a full release for DayZ is a way off, but that the development team will have a clearer idea by early 2015.
