Today, at the end of the Dead or Alive Festival in Tokyo, Producer Yosuke Hayashi announced a lot of new incoming content for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

First of all, attendees of the show got a code to unlock a costume for Marie Rose, inspired by Red Bull’s 5G tournament. You get to see it, but if you weren’t there, you don’t get to have it. So there.

Moving on to content for everyone, on August 11th patch 1.04 will be released, including a new stage named “Fireworks” and balance changes. There will also be new bikinis to get everyone in the appropriate summer mood.

IF

In September, we’ll get crossover costumes with Nihon Falcom games, like Ys and The Legend of Heroes.

IF

October will bring Halloween costumes, including designs submitted by fans.

IF

November will bring more crossover costumes, from Square Enix’s mobile game Schoolgirl Strikers.

IF

Early next year, veteran manga and anime fans will get their fix, with Tatsunoko crossover costumes. I can’t say I thought I’d ever see a Hakushon Daimaou costume in another fighting game, but apparently it’s going to happen.

By the way, if you know what Hakushon Daimaou is, you get 100,000 old anime nerd points, directly from my pool of billions. If you have actually watched the show, you can have them all.

IF

Last but not least, next spring Team Ninja will release a new stage and a brand new character. No details have been shared about the new entry in the roster, but we’ll know more about it soon enough.
