If you thought that Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja were done milking Dead or Alive 5: Last Round with the sixth season pass launched in February, you were oh so wrong.

Today the game with the most ridiculous amount of DLC ever just got some more, with the addition of the seventh season pass.

The good news is that this one costs a little less than the six that came before, priced at "only" $74.99. This means that if you add them all up (the first six cost $92.99 each), you get a total price tag of $632.93. That's basically the cost of two consoles right there, and that's not counting the base game.

As a bonus for purchasing the new season pass, you get two shiny "Golden Ninja" costumes for Kasumi and Ayane.

This season pass differs from its predecessors not just for the price, but also for how the DLC will be distributed over time. There will be only three drops. The first came today, with the Zack Island Swimwear set. Two more will come in October and December. All three sets will include costumes for 35 characters, including the dudes.

Incidentally, the Zack Island Swimwear set includes two variations for each swimsuit, for a total of 70 costumes. On the other hand, a lot of them are (as the title suggests), recycled from Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.

Below you can check out a trailer, and screenshots for each of the swimsuits, including the two bonus costumes.

Considering the radical change in format, with the move from six sets to three, and the lower price, it's legitimate to wonder if this is Dead or Alive 5: Last Round's swan song, five years after the release of the original game. Yet, with nine million downloads of Last Round and its Core Fighters version, we have to admit that it worked quite well for Koei Tecmo.

That being said, depending on where your priorities are, and considering the price, you might be better off grabbing yourself a PS4, a PlayStation VR headset and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. It'd cost you pretty much the same.

In the end, though, I can pull the irony card as much as I want, but the joke is really on us. In the meanwhile, Koei Tecmo is laughing all the way to the bank.
