Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Japanese Collector’s Editions Put Breasts on Your Mouse Pad, Sexy Swimsuits on your Fighters

Gone are the days in which Team Ninja mentioned the will to move past the sexualization of Dead or Alive‘s heroines. The saucy development team initially tried to stick to that decision, but the fans rioted and Team Ninja ended up giving them exactly what they wanted…and then some.

Koei Tecmo released a few images of the rich collector’s editions Japan will get for Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, and we can definitely say that they’re trying their hardest to appease our inner otaku.

Above you can see the princely “Kasumi-chan Blue and Momiji Red Ultimate Package”,  that retails exclusively at Koei Tecmo’s own portal Gamecity for a sizable percentage of a monthly salary (24,990 Yen, that translates to $247) and includes the following goodies:

  • Game for PS3 or Xbox 360
  • Ultimate Sexy Costume Download Code (you can see all the cute-to-downright-skanky costumes in the gallery below)
  • Dead Or Alive 5 Original Soundtrack CD Volume 3
  • 12 “I’m a Fighter” (yeah sure…) 27.83″ x 19.69″ posters
  • Kasumi-chan 3D mouse pad
  • Kasumi special cards
  • Kasumi life-size tapestry
  • Kasumi bathroom poster
  • Momiji 3D mouse pad
  • Momiji special cards
  • Momiji life-size tapestry
  • Momiji bathroom poster

Those that aren’t familiar with otaku culture may be perplexed at the idea of a 3D mouse pad. If you look at the picture above, it’s exactly what you think it is: a mouse pad with soft 3D breasts that act as a support for the wrist. You may also be wondering of what a “bathroom poster” is as well: it’s a waterproof poster designed to be hung in your bathroom, normally portraying suitable sexy themes. What you do with it is your own business.

Gamecity also gets two cheaper exclusive editions. The Kasumi-chan Blue Complete Package and the Momiji Red Complete Package that include the game, the costume codes, the twelve posters, the CD and the goods related to only one of the two fighters. They’re both priced 16,590 Yen ($164).

Finally the “standard” collector’s edition that will be available for 11,340 Yen ($112) has almost the same contents as the Kasumi-chan Blue Complete Package but loses the twelve posters.

In the gallery below you can see all four collector’s editions and the costumes included in the ltimate Sexy Costume DLC. There’s no news yet on whether all those goodies will be available in the western market or not, but I’m not sure if western games are ready to embrace mouse pads with breasts yet…or to be embraced by them. I know a few pundit journalists that would have a field day with this…
