Some say that Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 isn't coming west due to a purely business-oriented decision, because it wouldn't sell. One thing is for sure, the game's trailers are proving popular. The most watched video posted by Koei Tecmo on TouTube was Hyrule Warriors' Zelda trailer, that until a few days ago was also the only trailer published by the company to go past a million views.

Turns out that the top spot has been stolen away from the hands of the cute princess of Hyrule by the sexy heroines of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. The second teaser trailer for the upcoming PS4 and PS Vita Dead or Alive spin-off has passed the million views on December 31st, and just a few minutes ago, it has overtaken Zelda and  is now standing tall as the most viewed video of Koei Tecmo's YouTube history.

Interestingly, not only the video has passed the former top dog in views, but it has quite a lot more likes, and for a game that some would fear would cause massive controversy, it has been hit by less dislikes.

And it's not just a fluke. A similar level of popularity extends to every trailer of the game: the first teaser released two months ago just overtook Deception IV: Blood Ties's "super trap combo" trailer for the third place overall, with 946,043 views at the moment of this writing, while the latest trailer published two weeks ago is at 519,381 views and climbing steadily.

To add a further detail to the picture, all of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3's trailers did not debut on YouTube. They were all showcased on Nico Nico livestreams two days before their YouTube release, and recorded and published on several websites. This means that the actual direct feed videos got even less traffic than they would have received if they debuted directly on YouTube, since many had already seen them.

It's pretty obvious to me that Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 has a very healthy sales potential, and I don't really think that's limited to Japan and Asia only. In any case, I doubt anyone really expects us to believe that someone at Koei Tecmo honestly thinks that it would sell less in the west than niche titles like Arslan: The Warriors of Legend or Nights of Azure.

That said, you can watch Koei Tecmo's most popular trailer ever below.
