Weekend DealShockers: Enslaved, Homefront and Many 2k Games

It is the weekend, and as usual, this means you can find some pretty good deals out there on the old interwebs.

Today on Amazon, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, the criminally underplayed action/platformer is on sale today for $15 for both the PS3 and Xbox 360.  Seriously, if you haven’t played through this game, it is well worth your time.  Vibrant and a lot of fun, it really was a shame that this game joined the ranks of Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil as a well crafted and exciting platformer that no one played.  It is a great summer game.

Next up is Steam’s weekend deal for Homefront for half-off, $25.  While the game apparently fell somewhat flat, and I personally skipped it, I know a number of people who said the multiplayer was surprisingly good, and that the story (of North Korea invading the United States) is entertaining enough.  It is from the guy who wrote Red Dawn, so the story definitely has a lot of potential to relive all those 80’s action movie moments.

Finally, over at Direct 2 Drive there is a large sale on a number of 2k games, including Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition for $11.95, Civilization V for $29.95 and a personal favorite of mine, Prey for $5.95.  Seriously, for less than $6 you can wash the taste of Duke Nukem Forever out of your mouth with one of the most surprisingly fun and deep corridor shooters of the last couple of years.
