Atlus revealed new information on the "Fate System" featured in the upcoming strategy JRPG Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker, a remake of the original Devil Survivor 2 that came out for Nintendo DS.

Not only will befriending your fellows help drive the story along, increasing the Fate level with others can provide you with plenty of bonuses, such as your allies gain certaining elemental resistances.

There's also a mechanic called "Joint skill cracking," which is how players can unlock new skills for battle. You simply find a demon with the skill you want and fell them in battle. Being able to joint skill crack doubles your chances of getting the skill, which of course gives you more advantages in battle.

Joint skill cracking becomes available when an ally's fate level is high enough, which allows the protagonist to unlock skills from demons they've targeted. Then there's the additional demons that get unlocked, such as Jeanne D'Arc, etc.
