Bungie’s upcoming new title, Destiny, is set to be one of the biggest releases of the year with many fans looking to jump into the action as soon as humanly possible: luckily for Xbox One fans, they won’t be left out from accessing the title right at the moment it launches.
A listing for the Destiny: Digital Guardian Edition on Xbox.com (that has since been taken down) showed that pre-loading for the title will be available before the game’s launch next month, allowing users to pre-download all of the game’s necessary files that will then unlock on its release night at 12:01am. Specifics for the file size of the game were not provided or listed.
Although the listing on Xbox.com has been pulled (presumably to make the game available for pre-loading sometime next week), Microsoft did confirm in a statement that the game would be available for pre-loading prior to its release:
“We’re thrilled to make Destiny available for pre-order and pre-download for Xbox One owners around the world. This option was available for a short period of time before the official pre-order window opened. We’ll have more details to share soon about the pre-order and pre-download window for Destiny.”
Pre-loading for Xbox One titles is officially set to arrive with upcoming titles such as FIFA 15 and Forza Horizon 2, though other titles like Sunset Overdrive and the recently-released Madden NFL 15 also are offering pre-loads for the titles, as well.
Destiny releases for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 on September 9th, 2014.
