Destiny Recovering from Christmas Outage; Xûr’s Permanence in the Tower Extended

on December 27, 2014 7:14 PM

Bungie has announced that players are starting to filter back onto the Destiny servers after the extended Christmas outage due to both the PSN and Xbox Live being affected by service interruptions.

Unfortunately things still seem rather unstable, but according to the developer, the game’s services are on the mend.

For those afraid of missing their appointment with our friendly exotics peddler Xûr, worry no more. Community Manager David “Deej” Dague mentioned on the game’s official forums that Xûr will stay longer, and precisely until 10 PM PST on Monday.

We understand that Xur has been hard to reach for a lot of you this weekend, so we’re going to extend his stay. Our current plan is to allow him to remain in the Tower with his current inventory until Monday night at 10pm PST, just before the weekly reset. We’ll also keep an eye on the overall situation, and prolong the extension, as needed, for as long as is feasible.

Next week, Xur will return to his regular schedule, with refreshed inventory.

Hopefully all guardians will be able to do some weekend shopping soon.
