Yesterday, Sony Computer Entertainment announced the Limited Edition PS4 and a Jet Black Bundle for Destiny's expansion The Taken King, but there was something a bit strange with the packaging.

It included the code CUH-1116a, which is related to the old CUH-1100 model of PS4 slated to the phased out in favor of the CUH-1200 series.  On the other hand, the hard disk drive cover looks matte, which is a detail belonging to the CUH-1200.

Today we confirmed the detail with Sony itself, and the console included in the bundles will indeed be a new CUH-1200 series, that is different from the older model in quite a few ways.

This makes the new Destiny: The Taken King bundles the first confirmed western release of the CUH-1200 series with the matte HDD Drive cover (the Metal Gear Solid V mode bound for Europe is a CUH-1200, but retains the glossy cover), even if it's still possible that other SKUs will be released before September 15th, when the Destiny: The Taken King PS4 bundles will hit the shelves.
