Destiny’s Beta Opening to All PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold Subscribers Today (UPDATED)

on July 24, 2014 6:42 PM

If you didn’t get a code for Destiny‘s beta, take heart, as you still have a chance to get in it. Bungie just announced that the closed beta is turning into a semi-open beta in just 15 minutes, at 4 PM PDT.

I wrote “semi-open” because there still is a requirement: on order to access the beta of Bungie’s upcoming shooter you’ll need either PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold.

Looks like Bungie decided that there were too many Fallen still alive, and decides to unleash a few million guardians on them.

According to the announcement, you’ll find the downloads directly on the console (presumably in the store). Time to get your bandwidth ready, because it’s not a small package to download.

As a partly related note, the Iron Banner event will return tomorrow. Below you can see the calendar:
Friday, July 25th

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM*

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Saturday, July 26th

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM*

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Update: if you don’t know where to find the download for the beta, you can find a list of URLs for each platform’s web marketplace here.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
