Deus Ex: Human Revolution to Feature Awesome Final Fantasy Easter Egg

on August 12, 2011 8:00 PM

It’s been a while since we’ve heard much of anything new on Deus Ex: Human Revolution but that barely matters considering the game is due to hit stores in just a few weeks. Developer Crystal Dynamics has thrown in a nice reference to what is arguably Square Enix’s biggest franchise: Final Fantasy. Obviously Square Enix is the publisher, but I can’t help wondering whose idea it actually was.

The above poster, for Final Fantasy XXVII, can apparently be spotted somewhere in the game. The game takes place in the year 2027 so the poster suggests that Enix will have another fourteen numbered Final Fantasy games out in the next sixteen years. I don’t see it happening. Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be available on HD consoles and the PC on August 23rd.
