After being unveiled earlier this year by Square Enix Montreal, Deus Ex Mankind Divided has now been given an official release date of February 23, 2016. The follow up to Deus Ex Human Revolution will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Players will be able to ‘augment their pre-order’, sticking to the game’s theme of choice by offering five separate tiers of pre-orders.
The first tier includes custom skins for Adam Jensen. It seems that as more players pre-order the game, the tiers will rise. Tier 2 offers a digital soundtrack and art book, tier 3 offers an extra mission, tier 4 adds a digital comic and novella while the final tier moves the game’s release date up an extra four days to February 18, 2016.
The tiered pre-order system is a good way of offering players a real incentive to pre-order, but it will be interesting to see the response to the game’s marketing strategy. For players who don’t want to wait on the tiers rising, the Collector’s Edition collects all of the digital rewards as well as a collectible steelbook case and 8-inch Adam Jensen statue.
