Return to Metroid in the Newest Did You Know Gaming?

on May 2, 2015 4:50 PM

The latest episode of Did You Know Gaming delves into the development behind the popular Metroid series, specifically Metroid Prime on the GameCube system and rumors surrounding newer handheld projects in the series. As usual, Did You Know Gaming? pulls from quotes in interviews with Metroid developers, leaked concept art, and in-game texts and models to create an interesting tale of the Metroid series.

Some of the more interesting facts is that Metroid Prime‘s existence hinged upon the team at Retro Studios implementing the perspective change from 1st to 3rd person when Samus uses her morph ball ability. Another is the existence of Metroid Dread for the Nintendo DS which was reported by both GameInformer and IGN but was never released.
