Codemasters has announced that Dirt 3 will not be in 3D, as they think the technology isn't a natural fit for the game. They haven't dismissed the technology and may be using it in future titles, but the way Dirt 3 plays creates a tunnel effect that's quite annoying.

"We're always racing for that point at the centre of the screen. You end up in a 3D environment getting a bit of a tunnelled effect going on, and it can actually be quite nauseating if you're doing hour or two-hour long playing sessions."

You know, this is actually nice to see. The movie business could learn a thing or two from this. 3D is neat and everything but it doesn't really belong everywhere. Dirt 3 will feature more cars, tracks, events and over double the tracks of those available in Dirt 2, and will be releasing worldwide on May 24th on the XBox 360, PS3 and PC.
