Disgaea D2 Announced for the Series’ 10th Anniversary

This weekend at an event in Chiba, it was announced that Nippon Ichi is developing a new title in the Disgaea franchise to celebrate its 10th anniversary – Disgaea D2. The game hearkens back to the franchise’s beginnings by making its main character Laharl, but we’ll also see reappearances of Etna (one of my favorites) and Flonne, as well.

Also shown off were the packaging, limited edition version of the game, as well as its Japan pre-order bonuses. The limited edition of the game, for example, comes with mini-figures of Etna and Flonne, as well as the game’s soundtrack and special packaging.

Given NIS America’s track record in always bringing Disgaea titles to the West, it’s highly likely we’ll eventually see this over here, so Disgaea fans can certainly rejoice. It will be released in Japan on March 20, 2013. If you want to check out the teaser site, it’s up and ready for viewing.
