Today Square Enix announced during a livestream on Nico Nico that its popular Team Ninja-developed fighting game Dissidia: Final Fantasy will get a new villain.

The chosen warrior is Kuja, the main antagonist of Final Fantasy IX, that will make his appearance with an update that will be implemented later this month.

Kuja goes to strengthen the still fairly flimsy ranks of the villains included in the game, which for now include just Sephiroth, Kefka and and Garland.

Looks like Square Enix isn’t yet ready to introduce characters from Final Fantasy XV, nor to talk about a possible PS4 port, which will probably come at some point, considering that the game is based on PS4 technology to begin with.
