Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, a console version of the popular Japanese arcade game based on the Dissidia Final Fantasy series, is heading to PS4 early next year according to a recent announcement trailer released by Square Enix.

The game will be developed alongside Team Ninja. It'll include 20 playable heroes and villains, spanning the entire mainline Final Fantasy series as well as Type-0. Ten battle arenas will be included based on iconic locations from multiple games in the series.

Familiar summons like Ifrit, Odin, and Shiva will be available in the game. Players will also be able to equip various weapons, skills, and skins for their favorite heroes and villains as they level them up.

The game's narrative will be written by Final Fantasy series veteran Kazushige Nojima whose work includes Final Fantasy VII: Remake, Final Fantasy XV, Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts II.

Like its arcade counterpart, the PS4 version of Dissidia Final Fantasy will include 3 on 3 battles for players to participate in as well as online and offline battle modes.

The Dissidia Final Fantasy series originated on the PSP back in 2008. This will be the first console iteration for the series. The Japanese arcade game has been around since 2015.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is coming early 2018 to PS4 in North America and Europe. Below you can check out some new screenshots, artwork, as well as the announcement trailer:
