Since the debut of its Kickstarter campaign in 2013, the Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9 has had a long journey from its crowdfunding days to its now impending release this week, while players can get a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes work that went into its production with the first part of a new documentary series on the game.

Prior to the game's release this week, the first episode of a documentary series on Mighty No. 9 (produced by 2-Player Productions) was released to give an in-depth look at some of the early work and pre-production that went into the game's development.

The first portion of the documentary series was shot in Spring 2014, giving a good inside look at the early stages of development for Mighty No. 9 following its record-breaking Kickstarter funding success and moving into the game's full production.

Mighty No. 9 releases for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on June 21st, 2016, followed by a release for PS Vita and 3DS later this year. In the meantime, you can check out the first episode of the game's documentary series below:
