During the welcome speech of Quakecon, Bethesda announced that there will be an alpha test of Doom, and it will be held "relatively soon."

The participants will be drawn at random among those who have access to next spring's beta for PS4, Xbox One and PC, that was a pre-order incentive for Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Those who are eligible have been encouraged to make sure they redeem their codes, and to check out their associated mail regularly.

On top of that, Doom's multiplayer is playable at Quakecon, starting today, and attendees are walking to the demo stations as I'm writing.
