Arc System Works recently sent out a press release giving the release date for Double Dragon IV. The beat-em up that just refuses to die will be out on January 29th for PS4 and January 30th for Steam in North America. Japanese players will have to wait one extra day for each version.

Back in June 2015, Arc System bought the rights to the franchise from Technos. And just last week the company announced the retro sequel right after Christmas. Other than having graphics heavily inspired by the first Double Dragon, not much is known at this time. There's no price given for either of the two releases and no Steam page exists yet.

There haven't even been any story details released other than some small hints in the teaser trailer. It probably won't be anything beyond 'rescue x from y' however. The game's website is equally stingy with information. There are categories of MODES, ACTIONS, CHARACTERS, and SPECIAL on the page but none of these link to anywhere yet. The same is true of the Japanese site.

Hopefully Arc System sheds some light onto the mysterious sequel. The nostalgia factor is high for this one and I can't wait to see how the ability to perform juggle combos effects the game. Also that '2P Duel' option on the main menu looks quite interesting. We'll have more on Double Dragon IV as more info drops.
