Dragon Quest Creator Shares Original Design Documents for the First Game

NES nostalgics, this is for you. Dragon Quest Creator Yuji Horii shared on twitter a real treat, in the form of a batch of original design documents for the first game, released in 1986.

The documents, that you can see in the gallery below, include a map and a sheet of see-through paper with notations that could be positioned over the map to indicate the dialogue prompts, which are included in the third and fourth documents.

Can’t say this doesn’t remind me of my days as pen and paper RPG dungeon master…
