Square Enix has announced that the second Dragon Quest Heroes will get the subtitle, “The Twin Kings and the Prophecy of the End.” Quite a mouthful, although the first game was titled, “Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below.” Thankfully we’ll just refer to the pair as Dragon Quest Heroes and Dragon Quest Heroes II.
The first Dragon Quest Heroes was released earlier this year in Japan on February 26, 2015 while North America and Europe waits for an October release. Despite this, Square Enix had already announced a second game was in development weeks after the first launched in Japan, stating that it would not only be developed for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 like the first, but also for PlayStation Vita. The first game is only coming to PlayStation 4 in North America, so we will have to wait and see if they decide to bring the Vita version of the sequel to the West.
Meanwhile Square Enix also released some plot details for the game. It will take place in an entirely different setting from the first, and will also feature a new story. Homiron, the slime who follows you in the first game, is currently the only recurring character, returning as a teacher. The game will also have “enhanced offense and defense actions.”
Until then, we in North America and Europe will wait until October 13 and 16 respectively for Dragon Quest Heroes.
