Dragon Quest X Coming to PC (In Japan) This September, Beta Signups Available Now

During a still-ongoing 10 hour-long livestream on Nico Nico, Square Enix officially announced that Dragon Quest X will receive a PC port in addition to the currently available Wii and Wii U versions. The PC version will be released in Japan on September the 26th and will cost 3990 yen for both the retail and digital download versions.

Beta signups are already open and a benchmark software has been published. You can download it here. If you want to try and apply for the beta yourself (even if it’s most probable that only applications coming from Japan will be accepted), the process is performed directly via the benchmark application.

We can only hope that the widening of the potential user base for the game and its availability on a platform more appropriate to what is basically a MMORPG will increase the chances for a western release, on which Square Enix has been and continues to be dreadfully silent.
