Back at the beginning of December, an European trademark for "Dragon's Dogma Online" surfaced for the European Union, filed by Capcom. Turns out that the same trademark has also been filed for registratuion with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and with its Japanese equivalent.

Interestingly, the Japanese trademark also includes the transliteration in katakana "ドラゴンズドグマ オンライン," that you can see below.

While we don't know for sure the nature of the project, and nothing has been said about possible platforms or even if it really is in development or just a concept, the fact that it has been filed for registration in multiple regions makes the possibility that it could be just a move to protect the IP from potential infringing less likely. Registering a trademark in a single country is normally sufficient for that purpose.

Unfortunately Capcom's lips have been fully zipped about a new Dragon's Dogma, so we'll have to wait for an official announcement. We can only hope that it won't be on mobile.
