Let's face it, you were going to dress up like a videogame character for Halloween anyway, right? Luckily for you, there's a ton of companies out there willing to reward you for your ridiculous dedication to their intellectual property. So far, we've got three pretty huge costume contests going on right now:

  • i am 8-bit is holding a general videogame costume contest via Twitter; just tweet them your costume anytime between now and November 3, and you could win an awesome (though rather nondescript) i am 8-bit prize pack, "chock-full of ULTRA RARE STUFF," reportedly worth "nothing short of a small fortune." How mysterious!

Judging will be based on creativity, resourcefulness and style. There are also special points awarded for OVERALL AWESOMENESS.

  • Atlus is known for having a devoted fanbase, and they know it. They're having a costume contest of their own, specifically for Atlus-owned characters. Their grand prize winner, chosen by popular vote will receive an Atlus prize pack valued at more than $300.00. Check out the full rules and vote on submissions on their Facebook page.
  • If you're into Naruto, or anime in general, check out Crunchyroll's cosplay contest, where you could win a PS2, some limited edition Naruto figurines, and more.
