DrinkBox Studios’ Severed Misses Summer Release Window; Delayed “A Few Additional Months”

As a follow-up to the well-received and charming Guacamelee!, developer DrinkBox Studios revealed their next project, the PS Vita-exclusive Severed, as a touch-screen based hack ‘n slash game that originally was targeting release this summer, but has been delayed a few more months for additional testing and polish.

Developer DrinkBox Studios announced that Severed has been delayed by “a few additional months” to continue working on the game despite its original release window of summer 2015, following the game’s announcement at last year’s inaugural PlayStation Experience event in December.

Despite the setback of its delay, DrinkBox assured fans waiting for the game that the additional development time is being used to insure it as a high-quality and polished title, explaining in a statement that “Severed is a really different game from anything we’ve made before and we want to take a few additional months for playtesting and tuning so that we can make it the best game it can be.”

Severed is currently in development for PS Vita, with the game now delayed from its release of Summer 2015 – in the meantime, you can check out several brand-new screenshots from the game below:
