As we previously reported, the release date of Driveclub for Japan is marked as February 22nd by basically every source, including the official PlayStation website and the official Sony store, but looks like we're still far from the solution of the mystery.

To try and get a bit more clarity on the release window of the upcoming racing game by Evolution Studio I reached out directly to Design Director Paul Rustchynsky asking him specifically about the Japanese release date and bringing the fact that it was listed as February 22nd to his attention. Rustchynsky denied the accuracy of the information.

We've yet to officially announce a release for any territory yet, so any dates out there are currently are not accurate.

Until there is an official press release please consider all dates to be incorrect.

At the moment we don't know why Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia decided to keep the release date untouched despite the worldwide delay, and with February 22nd drawing near, the situation risks to get a little confusing for Japanese gamers, that by now are pretty confident to see Driveclub released as a PS4 launch title.

We'll have to stand by for the press releases Rustchynsky mentions, and we'll keep you posted on any info we receive.
