DualShockers Eyes On: Bayonetta

While I was at the New York Anime Festival this weekend, I could not help but stare and admire all the beautiful cos-players that surrounded me. God had cursed me; you can look but you can’t touch sort of thing. Meandering along I stumbled across SEGA’s section in the convention to find people playing a game involving a hot chick slicing and obliterating the crap out of gigantic but cherub-like faced monsters. I got slightly turned on but yet was freaked out at the same time by the whole monster thing. The game was Bayonetta, created by Platinum Games and published by Sega.

This to me was another Devil May Cry game, and after doing some research, it really was but with another character and story line (and obviously a different developer and publisher). Unlike Devil May Cry though you play as a hot character, a character I would love to stare at and not pay attention to what is happening in the game. Some of you are thinking, “Dude, she is just a video game character. She isn’t real”. Well screw you! I have fantasies, and one of them is with a hot game chick (particularly this one). You men and women out there have some sick fantasies too!

To prove my worth for this game, I’ll let you in on something. She gets naked in the game. As she slices the crap out of her foes, like a finishing move, her clothes come off as she poses and becomes a huge demon-like dog that eats her opponents like they were puppy chow. If anyone was wondering, I was not staring at the gruesome fatality. Sadly after she is done the clothes come right back and cover her body so she may resume the carnage, and put tears in my eyes.

This game had a huge turnout at the convention, guys and gals all over were coming to the booth and trying out the demo. All of them had smiles on their faces and said out loud “this is Devil May Cry – but with a chick!” I am a big fan of the slice and dice type of games, and really enjoyed the Devil May Cry Series (maybe not Devil May Cry 2), but the series overall. The game already has the prerequisites to be a really good slasher, so don’t miss out when it is released for the XBOX 360 and PS3 after the new year. Check out some Cam footage recorded by yours truly at the booth at NYAF below!
