Dustforce Incorporates Elements of Street Fighter, Mega Man, and Strider

Do you know what exactly Dustforce is? I certainly had no idea before I tried the game for the first time at this year’s New York Comic Convention in New York City. The latest video from Capcom, entitled “What is Dustforce?” articulates what exactly Dustforce is, and why Capcom is enthusiastic about bringing it to major consoles.

The game is laced with the platforming aspects of Mega Man, wall-clinging and combat elements of Strider, and timing similar to that of Street Fighter. These elements comprise what the publisher has characterized as Capcom DNA, and it has driven their enthusiasm ever since.

Dustforce is being developed by Hitbox Team alongside QLOC and will be published by Capcom for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PS Vita early next year. You can read my preview of the game from NYCC 2013 here.
