Koei Tecmo announced the release of a new free-to-play version of Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires for both Xbox and Playstation consoles.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires Free Alliances Version will be coming to the UK next month, with no word yet on a North American version. Players will be able to use Edit and Free Mode, and those subscribing to PS Plus will also have access to Empire Mode and Free Mode's online play,

There will also be plenty of micro-transactions for players to spend their real money on.
