When it comes to parties in Los Angeles Activision threw one of the best. To start things off the packed Staples center was treated to free drinks and food before the show. Once everyone had their beer goggles on the show began with lasers and smoke as DJ Z Trip, David Guetta, and Deadmau5 opened up the night with beats and even some gaming music mixed in. Read on for the madness that ensued and proved to be one of the most expensive exhibits at E3. Check out the recap and photo gallery brought to you by DualShockers who was in attendance for the event in full force through the entire show which rolled on through midnight and later!

Game trailers were shown in between performances by artists including Usher, Jane's Addiction joined by Dave Navarro, Chris Cornell performing to a symphony orchestra version of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun", N.E.R.D., and Eminem even performed 3 songs, did a feature with Rihanna who stepped on stage, and then closed out the show with "Lose Yourself" which had the crowds screaming. At one point a stripper pole emerged which went all the way to the ceiling and had a contortionist style dancer climb half-way up it and hang upside down.

The event was a little light on game-related content I must say though, and had some people wondering if Activision was ever going to show more games. Though a few people ended up walking out early, mostly everyone enjoyed the show. Call of Duty: Black Ops was shown with fireworks, explosions, and torches synchronized to gun-shots and dramatic moments in the game which shook the Staples center and filled it with smoke once again. This was the same demo of COD7 shown at the Microsoft Press Conference but was presented in higher clarity and in a much more exciting way.

DJ Hero 2 was shown with artists like Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and DJ Tiesto named to be featured in the game. Tony Hawk: Shred was also shown after a cameo by the skateboarding star and friends and was revealed to use the Tony Hawk: Ride peripheral for an all-new title that will feature skateboarding as well as snowboarding game-play.

The new True Crime: Hong Kong, in which players will infiltrate the Yakuza itself, was shown and explained by a pretty bad-ass action-packed trailer with an Eminem soundtrack showing the main character chop necks with butcher knives and throw people into trunks and high-voltage electric panels. In addition to all of this we also saw Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock shown with release date given for September 2010. All in all it was quite a show! Enjoy the gallery via our V.I.P. seats up top.
