E3 2010: Square-Enix Announces Chocobo Racing 3D

This isn’t the first chocobo kart racing game, nor will it likely be the last, but one of Square-Enix’s new Nintendo 3DS games is a sequel t0 the original PS1 Chocobo Racing, which came out over a decade ago. In the game you’ll be able to race through Final Fantasy-inspired tracks with Final Fantasy characters. Nothing new here, right? Well, I guess it is in 3D. The press release for Chocobo Racing 3D (which is a tentative title), has this to say:

“The game will feature exhilarating, speedy racing that can only be experienced through 3D.”

Seriously, that is about the most exciting part of the entire document, which is one of the shortest press releases I’ve ever seen. Personally, I think they should just incorporate Final Fantasy characters into Mario Kart, but to each their own. You can check out some screens of the title after the jump.
