E3 2011: Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Demo Impressions

Ezio is back, and he’s looking fantastic.

At Ubisoft’s press conference, the curtain was raised on the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, this fall’s upcoming installment in the series. Players will follow Ezio as he fights the Templars in the Ottoman Empire and goes on a soul searching quest to find the secrets of his ancestor, Altair.

We were provided with a beautiful promo trailer (which was at times so great I thought it was live action), and then the demo started.Graphically, the whole thing was similar to the originals. We followed an older Ezio as he was informed the ship he needs to board has been locked up until he is found. Then the assassin is given bombs. This will go well.

We see Ezio pull his usual acrobatics in combat and use Eagle Vision to see through a smoke screen. He then uses a bomb to bring down the lighthouse the boat was attached to.

He uses his acrobatic skill to evade and fight guards, grabbing a flamethrower and setting an entire fleet of ships on fire before boarding his own ship.

“Sorry for the delay,” he says to the captain.

Afterwards, some keyboard commands leave us with a portal. But where does it go?

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations releases this fall.
