E3 2011: Hole in the Wall Coming to Kinect and Drunk Parties

on June 8, 2011 3:30 PM

The popular and hilarious game show Hole in the Wall will be coming out for the Xbox 360 for the Kinect, the only system in current existence where it could even possibly work, and I think it’s one of the most straight forward applications from concept to design to ever occur in a Kinect game. If you haven’t seen the show, I’m sure you’ve seen footage of similar games on YouTube from those wacky Japanese shows, but essentially a foam wall approaches you with a shape cut out. Your goal is get through that shape.

Sounds simple, often results in a hilarious end with people getting smacked in the face and dumped in water. For optimum effect I suggest having extra “players” who throw stuff at the losers if they don’t make it through. Check out the gallery for some screenshots.

John is what you might call something of a badass. When he's not writing about games or playing them, he's playing in the Kansas City band "Documentary" and drinking as many different beers as often as he can. He's a huge comic nerd in the best sense of the term, with a particular love for the Creator Owned movement.
