E3 2011: Ryse Announced, Uses Kinect for Combat

on June 6, 2011 1:27 PM

Set in what looks to be ancient Rome, the new title Ryse was announced at the Microsoft E3 press conference and is set to be an exclusive title. It looks to be a hack-and-slash title using Kinect, just what we’ve been wanting right? RIGHT? The early part of the trailer set the stage in Rome, then we got down to the good stuff and saw some pretty visceral combat, controlled via Kinect with movements of the upper and lower body. You can swing swords, block with shields and punch people right in the noggin. Not sure exactly what else this game involves aside from bloody gladiatorial combat, but I suppose we’ll hear more about it as time goes on.
