It’s no secret that I’m a huge Tekken fan, so I nearly vomited my cheese pizza when I learned that Namco had announced its plans to bring not one or two, but three new Tekken games to various consoles. To be more specific, there are new Tekken games in the works for the brand spanking new Wii U, 3DS and PS3. If you’re a purist like me, then all that concerns you is the PS3 one.
Anyways, the Wii U will get a game tentatively titled Tekken Wii Successor. Key features will include a character customization mode that utilizes the Wii U’s touch screen interface, as well a sizable roster. Tekken 3D, the 3DS project, is apparently very reminiscent of Tekken 2, while few details are available. The biggest project of them all though is easily Tekken Hybrid, for the PS3. Tekken Hybrid will be a software bundle and Namco has not delineated all of the contents of it.
They have revealed that it will include an HD remake of 2000’s Tekken Tag Tournament, as well as Tekken: Blood Vengeance, the CG Tekken movie that was revealed a little while ago. No details are available on the TTT remake, but it is confirmed to include the Tekken Bowl mini-game. They’d be insane not to include online play. The only release details available are for Tekken Hybrid, which will hit the PS3 in November of this year. Stay tuned for more details on all of these games, as they become available.
