Microsoft unveiled a second trailer for Halo 4, depicting a live-action sequence of the christening of the UNSC Infinity and it’s eventual grounding on a planet. Both Master Chief and Cortana were given prominence in what looked to be cutscenes taken directly from the game.

The game began a lot similar to Halo 3, with Master Chief traversing a jungle setting. Cortana’s presence in the gameplay involved providing verbal feedback to Master Chief as he made his way through the area. Combat this time seems to be a lot more intense; the demo sent Master Chief into the red as he engaged in a vicious bout of hand-to-hand combat against an enemy that Cortana noted as being something other than the Convenant.

New weapons and features were the focus of both the trailer and gameplay. One of the new weapons also present was a rifle which put itself together in a manner similar to that of rifles in Mass Effect. Of course, it packed a hell of  a punch, seemingly incinerating every enemy that Master Chief shot. Before the trailer ended, there was also a sequence reminiscent of detective mode from Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

Halo 4 is being developed by 343 Industries and will be released on November 6th, 2012.
