E3 2013: Pokemon X and Y Announces a Global Release Date and New Pokemon Type

The Nintendo Direct revealed some exciting news for Pokemon X and Y–they’re be introducing a brand new Pokemon type, the Fairy type. As most Pokemon fans know, the last time new typings was introduced was all the way back in the second generation with Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, so it will be interesting to see how this will play into battle strategies and competitive play.

Nintendo has also announced a release date for Pokemon X and Y–it will be coming out worldwide on October 12th for the 3DS. Check out the trailer below for more gameplay.
