Today the Entertainment Software Association announced that E3 will return next year, and will take place from June 12th, 2018 to June 14th, 2018. Of course press conferences from major publishers will happen before those dates.

This year saw major reveals from each of the press conferences. On Saturday we got out first look at Star Wars Battlefront 2 gameplay at EA Play, as well as the reveal of Madden 18. On Sunday Microsoft revealed that Project Scorpio was officially named Xbox One X, and we saw the first gameplay footage from Assassin's Creed Origins and the reveal of Bioware's Anthem. Later that night Bethesda officially announced The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. On Monday Ubisoft announced Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, and showed off gameplay for its highly anticipated game Far Cry 5. Later that day Sony unveiled gameplay for God of War, Days Gone, Spider-Man, and more. Finally, on Tuesday, Nintendo officially announced Metroid Prime 4, and showed off a new trailer for Super Mario Odyssey.

The association also revealed the attendance numbers for this year's expo. The association revealed that 68,400 people attended the event.

The number was, at least partly, due to the fact that this years expo was the first ever to be open to the public. This year the company sold 15,000 public tickets. As of the time of this writing, it's unknown whether or not public tickets will be made available next year, or if the expo will revert back to its old format of just press, developers, and publishers. As always, more information about the expo will come in the months leading up to next year's start date.
