EA Announces The Sims 3 Ambitions Expansion

Prayers have been met for The Sims gamers around the world.  In a dramatic expansion to The Sims 3, players who purchase The Ambitions expansion will finally be able to live out their Sim’s jobs!  In addition to having a greater selection of jobs, more creative and fantasy-based jobs like ghost hunting, as well environment factors changing in on the world around you based on your job, this expansion pack will also allow players unprecedented control in their Sims’ lives by giving them choices between good and evil, working hard and slacking.  Read more for what types of crazy new jobs to expect for your Sims as well as when this expansion pack is due to drop.

The Sims series has been advancing in leaps and bounds lately, but it would seem an obvious move to allow players to go to work as their Sims, and yet this is the first time this feature has been brought to life for its fans.  From sculpting works of art, to solving mysterious cases as an investigator this expansion pack puts in the effort to bring a new experience that The Sims is always in desperate need of.

To every job, however, there has been added a good side and a devious side.  For example, if you wanted to be a doctor you have the choice of making house calls to save people or just use them as test subjects.  You could even become a firefighter only to seconds later chop some ones home furnishings apart with your axe.

This unprecedented amount of freedom and increased immersion are sure to keep this series going a lot further into the future.  I applaud EA and The Sims 3 developers for thinking of this, although it is definitely a late entry for a “no-brainer” addition to the series.  You can pick up The Sims 3 Ambitions this June on the PC and Mac.
