Since their debut over a decade ago, The Sims have provided entertainment to millions through getting the chance to re-enact real life, create a whole new one…or, to trap a Sim inside a house without a toilet, for the more sadistic folk: luckily, you will now get the chance to do all those things for free (for a limited amount of time).

Over on the official Origin website, EA has announced The Sims 4 will be available as part of Origin’s Game Time program, allowing users to download a title with a 48-hour free trial. Once downloaded and activated on Origin, users will have 48 hours to play a title through Game Time (in real time): once the 48 hours is over, users that purchase the title through Origin can carry over their progress/save data from the free trial period.

The Sims 4 is available now through Origin’s Game Time program for PC and Mac, alongside other titles currently available through the service such as Battlefield 4Titanfalland Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.
