Hold on to your butts. Electronic Arts’ Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, recently revealed some small details regarding EA’s acquisition of the Star Wars license this past year.
The company will be developing various Star Wars titles over the next ten years. One studio that was specifically highlighted was Battlefield 4‘s developer, DICE. In addition to Star Wars: Battlefront, which was announced at E3 2013, DICE is, “building some early stages of various games.” In regards to unannounced projects, Jorgensen described, “historical types of games,” and, “new games that we’re inventing around their content, around the broad Star Wars content and around some of the new assets that they may produce over time as well.” Their content, meaning the universe being established around the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, which is slated for a 2015 release.
Star Wars: Battlefront is being developed by DICE and will be published by EA presumably for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on an unannounced date in 2015.
